AI-Powered Job Search Platform

A SaaS platform built to eliminate the chaos of job hunting by combining visual application pipeline tracking with tailored AI-assisted cover letter and resume generation.

Background

Job hunting is notoriously stressful, often requiring applicants to manage dozens of distinct applications across cluttered Excel sheets while battling the "blank page syndrome" for every new cover letter. For small-scale creators and solo developers, launching a software-as-a-service (SaaS) product that directly addresses this problem is an incredible test of end-to-end execution.

I built Jyyni.fi (not in use anymore) to completely streamline this process for Finnish job seekers. The core philosophy was to merge agile project management tracking with creative AI assistance, turning a chaotic job search into an organized, efficient workflow.

How It Works

  • Visual Pipeline Dashboard: Users can completely ditch fragmented spreadsheets. The platform features a clean Kanban-style interface tracking applications from initial draft and submission through to incoming interviews and archival.
  • AI Copywriting & Document Engine: By feeding a target job description into the platform, users receive a tailored, context-aware cover letter draft within seconds. The system also supports generating clean, professional, print-ready CV PDFs directly inside the app, cutting out tedious formatting software struggles.
  • Robust Automation & Monetization Infrastructure: The platform relies on a modern serverless stack hosted on Vercel with a Supabase backend handling secure user data and authentication. Complex AI workflows are orchestrated seamlessly using n8n tied into the OpenAI API, while subscription tiers (Free vs. Pro) are securely processed via a Stripe payment gateway.

Challenges

Building a highly functional SaaS platform is only half the battle; the real hurdle is distribution and cutting through the noise to reach actual users. With zero budget for traditional paid advertising, I had to get creative with growth hacking.

I turned to organic short-form video marketing, building a target content strategy on TikTok. By creating engaging, relatable clips highlighting the common frustrations of job hunting and showcasing how Jyyni solves them, the videos went viral—capturing 250,000 views within the first two weeks of launch. Managing the sudden influx of initial users and ensuring the backend scaled smoothly under the viral traffic spike was an exhilarating trial by fire.

What I Learned

Jyyni.fi has been my most comprehensive venture into product management, full-stack software engineering, and digital marketing. It forced me to look far beyond code architecture and adopt an entrepreneurial mindset.

I learned how to quickly validate a product value proposition, manage API token consumption costs against a subscription model, engineer secure database logic, and design a high-converting landing page. Watching an idea transform from a local sandbox concept into a live web application used by thousands of real job seekers completely redefined how I view rapid software deployment and product-led growth.
